“The Babysitters” (Part 2 of 4)

You can’t always make everyone happy. Especially when you don’t produce breast milk.

In the obscure reference category, I’m sporting a ‘Most Serene Republic’ T-Shirt purchased so long ago that it’s hard to remember it actually happening. ‘The Most Serene Republic’ features Nick of ‘Laura Knows Best’ fame, and the design is the old Town of Milton logo, designed by my aunt, and incidentally where I grew up. Talk about yer seven degrees of ‘Laura Knows Best!’ You can check out TMSR at their MySpace page, and you can visit the Town of Milton here.

Print comics are still available through Etsy. Check ’em out by clicking the banner below!

“The Babysitters” (Part 1 of 4)

Things are about to go from bad to worse – so stay tuned next week! (Needless to say, we haven’t been asked to babysit since…)

ITEM! This past weekend I attended Canzine West in Vancouver. There was an excellent turnout and I welcome anyone from the show that might be checking out this site for the first time. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on any new comics!

Speaking of new comics – I recently published a limited run of some of the earliest ‘Laura Knows Best’ strips for the last two shows I’ve attended. Titled ‘So Long, Singapore,’ the booklet chronicles Laura and Brett’s final months overseas. I’ve put the remaining copies up for sale on my Etsy site, so take a look if you’re interested (copies of ‘The Wedding’ are also still available).

“The MG”

Well, if you were expecting a little cheer to help you start your week, you came to the wrong place! It wasn’t until I was older and started to re-read the fabulous Peanuts collections that were published by Fantagraphics that I started to realize just how depressing the strip really was. Despite being a huge influence, I haven’t really felt like I tapped into the tone of Peanuts until now.

ITEM! This Saturday (November 17), I’ll be appearing at Canzine West, a convention for zines, comics and independent arts. Should be cool! The show will run from 1-7 at W2 111 West Hastings Street, Vancouver and I’ll have copies of “The Wedding” and a new mini-comic collection, “So Long, Singapore” collecting the earliest “Laura Knows Best” comic strips for sale.

“The Lucky Ones”

What can I say? I’m a romantic at heart!

Yesterday’s November Comicon in Vancouver was a blast. Thanks to anyone who stopped by and might be checking out the site for the first time this week!
